Why we made Khalsen
Every trip, shared flat and big dinner ends the same way: a long WhatsApp thread of numbers, someone doing math on a calculator, and that one friend who “will pay you back later”. Money is the easiest way for a good outing to turn awkward.
We wanted an app that fits how we actually spend together in Egypt: bills in EGP, service and VAT on every receipt, InstaPay or cash to pay back, and friends who switch between Arabic and English in the same sentence. We couldn’t find one, so we built it.
What we believe

كل رحلة، وكل شقة مشتركة، وكل عزومة كبيرة بتخلص بنفس الطريقة: شات واتساب طويل مليان أرقام، حد قاعد يحسب على الآلة الحاسبة، وصاحبنا اللي «هيبقى يحاسبك بعدين». الفلوس أسهل حاجة تبوّظ خروجة حلوة.
كنا عايزين أبلكيشن يمشي مع طريقتنا إحنا في مصر: الفواتير بالجنيه، الخدمة والضريبة على كل فاتورة، الدفع بإنستاباي أو كاش، وصحاب بيتكلموا عربي وإنجليزي في نفس الجملة. ملقيناش، فعملناه.
